OBAMA WATCH CENTRAL

It's freedom of 'religion,' Mr. President

It's just one more "fiber" of the U.S. Constitution, but if enough are torn, the document itself will unravel, according to a Washington-based faith organization that is chiding Barack Obama for repeatedly referring to the "freedom of worship" in the United States, when the Constitution actually calls for "freedom of religion."

Officials with the Faith and Freedom Institute have dispatched a letter to the president, asking that he correct himself.

"While some may deem the words 'worship' and 'religion' to be synonymous, and thus interchangeable, they are most definitely not!" said the letter from Faith and Freedom Institute President Gary Dull, Vice President Dave Kistler and historian Don Kistler.

"The First Amendment of the United States Constitution uses the word 'religion' and states unequivocally that Congress cannot prohibit the 'free exercise' of said 'religion,'" the letter continues.

"Your use of the word 'worship' implies that we have freedom ONLY within the confines of structures set aside for religious expression (i.e. churches, synagogues, etc.). This is not only a gross departure from the original intent of the First Amendment, but is also the first step toward eliminating faith expression in the public marketplace."

The organization, which says its purpose is to provide educational support for the moral, spiritual, political and biblical foundations of the U.S., argued words have meaning.

"To some, that may not appear to be a great issue, but it steals away the language of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and gives a different meaning to the freedom to practice our religion as we determine," the organization said.

Dull told WND the change in terminology is significant. "Worship" usually is done behind the walls and closed doors of a building set aside for that purpose. "Religion," on the other hand, includes the biblically mandated activity of declaring the Gospel to all nations.

Freedom of religion, he said, "actually means that we can practice religion in public space. Freedom of worship is more personal and often behind the doors of a church."

Dull said the institute staff first noticed the change in terminology at the November 2009 address by Obama in memory of the victims of a radicalized Islamic officer in the U.S. military who shot up a military base.

Since then, it's been a recurring statement, he said his staff has found. Besides Obama, the Democrat administration's use of it also has been spotted in Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's addresses.

It implies, Dull said, that Christians or those of other faiths should "keep inside your church buildings."

The letter asks Obama to "retract all past use of this incorrect and misleading phrase, 'freedom of worship,' and cease all future use of the same. We also call on you to acknowledge America's Christian heritage as is clearly evidenced in our Founding documents and the overwhelming abundance of statements from our Founding Fathers."

Dull warned what one generation tolerates, the next generation promotes.

The idea that Christianity is perfectly fine behind closed doors of a church building – but not really acceptably any longer in the public square – is a recurring theme in the myriad lawsuits that have sprung up in recent years over statements of faith by public officials, ceremonial prayers in public meetings, Christian student groups at schools and colleges and other places and times when the nation's Christian heritage traditionally has been recognized.

The issue also has arisen in the arguments over "hate crimes." Legislation was signed by Obama last year that created penalties for making members of groups – specifically homosexuals – feel bad.

A well-known atheist once told him, Dull reported to WND, that he had no objection to Christians or people of other faiths practicing their religion as long as they remained behind closed doors.

REPORT ON JULY 8th WHITE HOUSE PRAYER VIGIL

I am so thankful for all those who prayed for us on July 8th for our White House Prayer Vigil. Without doubt, we saw God's powerful hand at work. It is especially electrifying to see God answer specific prayer.

On Tuesday evening, before retiring for the night, we met in our hotel room outside DC to pray for God's direction on the prayer vigil, specifically that He would give us favor with the authority structure around the White House. Though I'd contacted my friends at the National Park Service to see if we needed a permit to hold our prayer vigil (which we did not for the size group we took), we were not specifically told by the Park Service that we could not hold our event on the sidewalk. So, when we got to the White House, we set up on the sidewalk right in front of the White House fence.

Almost instantly, Secret Service personnel arrived, as did a good number of spectators. Dr. Dull and Ispoke briefly, then we went straight to prayer. In all, eight of us prayed for the following items: Revival in our nation, our national leaders, the youth of our country, the three items facing votes in the Senate (Cap and Trade, Hate Crimes, and Health Care), a grass roots return to the original intent of our founders, and the nation of Israel.

Nathan sang the National Anthem and we said the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag (the one atop the White House). It was fascinating to see tourists join in the pledge and remain silent as we prayed and spoke on the issues over which we have great concern. When we concluded our vigil with "God Bless America," and "Revive Us Again," I was again stirred by the participation and interest of those present who joined us in our singing. To be honest, I was surprised by the rapt attentiveness that the public gave to us.

Many snapped photos and took video of our vigil. Immediately after we concluded our event, a uniformed Secret Service agent informed us that, technically, we were in violation of the law (which we did not know) by holding our event on the sidewalk. However, he was very quick to say that he did not want to interrupt our event, but chose to let us know after we were done. In addition, he clearly stated that if we do another event in the future, all we need to do is move a few feet into the street and we can "do whatever we desire."

Over the moments that followed our prayer vigil, we saw a kinship develop with this Secret Service agent. We thanked him repeatedly for his kindness and expressed great appreciation for all he does to protect our capital. Many tourists talked with us and wanted more information about the Faith And Freedom Institute.

Following a time of great fellowship over lunch, we visited the Vietnam Memorial where we were able to pass out some of our patriotic John/Romans booklets and "Freedom's Dream" DVD's. One vet was trying to reach up to a name high on the memorial wall to scratch the name on a piece of paper (or so I thought).

When I asked if I could help, he said, "No, I've already done that. I'm just pointing out the name to my wife." Ironically, he and his wife were from North Carolina, just a few miles from where we live. We were able to thank him for his service and give him a DVD. Tears welled up in his eyes as we spoke to him. In the future, I want to go back to DC and just "walk the wall" all day and minister to our vets. The opportunities are incredible!!!

All of us who went for the prayer vigil were overwhelmingly convinced that it was a HUGE success--so much so that we are going to return on August 18 (Tuesday)for a full scale rally in front of the White House. This will be a Faith And Freedom Institute sponsored event and will include great music by our family, choirs, and the Daybreak Quartet.

Please mark you calendar and plan to join us in Washington, DC for this powerful time of prayer, praise and witness for our Savior. We MUST seize the opportunity to declare our faith and contend for our continued freedom while we still have the chance to do so. We are asking all believers and concerned citizens to meet us in DC on Tuesday, August 18, for this time of earnest petition to God for revival in our land. It will also serve to send a clear statement to the current administration that we do not intend to allow our freedoms (especially the freedom of religion and speech) to be taken from us! We will communicate more information in the coming days. For now, clear your calendar and plan to join us for this CRITICALLY important gathering of God's people right in the seat of world political power. If we do not take advantage of the freedoms we have, they will most certainly be taken from us!

FAITH AND FREEDOM INSTITUTE PRAYER VIGIL AT THE WHITE HOUSE

On Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 11:00 AM THE FAITH AND FREEDOM INSTITUTE conducted a prayer vigil directly in front of the White House in Washington, DC. Members of TFFI gathered to pray, sing and preach and a very good number of tourists, business people and others gathered to participate with the vigil. The President of TFFI, Dr. Gary G. Dull, spoke on "THE PATH OF A NATION," and took his text from Proverbs 14:34 which says, "RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTETH A NATION, BUT SIN IS A REPROACH TO ANY PEOPLE." Dr. David Kistler, Vice President of TFFI spoke on the need for America to turn back to God so as to experience God’s blessing of strength and provision.

Dr. Dull said of the prayer vigil, "It was great to be in DC, the center of political power on earth, to pray to God in Heaven, the center of power in the universe, and ask Him to work through all Americans, from those in grass roots to those in the White House, to re-establish the nation on the biblical basis it once rested." Dull went on to say that he is looking forward to watching God work in building up "a great body of conservative Christian patriots" who will lead America down the direction envisioned by our founding fathers.

In the future, other events will be conducted by TFFI including a "full fledged" patriotic rally in Washington, DC on August 25, 2009. Please be advised that more information on the patriotic rally will be forthcoming which will be found on the TFFI website.

TFFI HOLDS THE FIRST REGIONAL CONFERENCE IN HICKORY, NC

On Monday and Tuesday (June 15, 16, 2009) The Faith and Freedom Institute held the first of what is expected to be many regional conferences across the nation. It was held in Hickory, NC with hundreds of individuals involved.

The key note speaker for the event was United States Representative Dr. Paul Broun (R-GA) from Georgia who spoke on “IF THE FOUNDATIONS BE DESTROYED, WHAT CAN THE RIGHTEOUS DO?  His speech was very applicable and reminded all that one way God rules on earth is through the lives of His people getting involved in governmental and community issues.  Along with Rep. Broun, other speakers included Evangelist David Kistler, Co-founder of TFFI;  Dr. Johnny Hunter, the director of LEARN-Life Education And Resource Network, the largest African-American pro-life organization in the nation; Pastor Stephen Broden, a dynamic African-American pastor and spokesman for the pro-life cause, having been recently featured on the Mike Huckabee Show; and Dr. Gary G. Dull, co-founder of TFFI.

A part of the conference was the “RE-SIGNING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE” which is a project that will continue through July 5, 2009 as people all across America will be encouraged to sign the DECLARATION asking our elected officials to govern in the spirit and mind of that great document.

TFFI will then distribute those signatures to officials in the White House and on Capitol Hill.  Information on how to get involved in that project can be found on this web site.

The Faith and Freedom Institute are planning on having other regional conferences in the future.  Information for other conferences will be posted on the TFFI web site.

WASHINGTON -- In the wake of James Dobson retiring from Focus on the Family, leaving a possible vacuum of power in evangelical leadership, Dr. Gary Dull and other Christian leaders are forming The Faith and Freedom Institute to combat "satanic wickedness" in order to return America to a foundation of Biblical principles.

"America was founded with a spiritual basis, but there are those who want to make it a purely secular nation," Dull said near Capitol Hill Thursday. "Because of the rejection of God and His values, we can expect nothing but His judgment. All one needs to do is to read in history and find out how that when a nation forgot God, God forgot the nation."

That is where Dull says the Faith and Forum Institute plans to step in. According to Dull, the Institute "is being formed to lead America back to the knowledge of God in order to save the nation from the judgment of God."

"Without a doubt, we believe that there is a definite agenda to destroy America that is being empowered by satanic wickedness and enhanced
by Godless citizens," Dull said. "The Faith and
Freedom Institute desires to put those who have an adverse vision for America on notice that we will not lie down and allow them to overtake us and our heritage, but that we will intend to stand up and fight for those rights given to us by God Himself and proclaimed by many who committed their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to make America work."

As a result, Dull blamed things like economic failure and moral decline to abortion and same-sex marriages on an idea
that "God is being forgotten."

Dull said the new Christian conservative organization would provide educational opportunities in order to motivate
leaders to call for a return to God and basic values.

"The Faith and Forum Institute intends to motivate religious, governmental and social leaders, as well as the general public to confess the sins of forgetting God and His word, to repent and turn back to God, and begin to live by the values that made America great," Dull said.

But he is optimistic about a brighter future for America, he said. "We want to remind people that in the end there is hope for America as we turn back to God and the principles in the Scriptures," Dull said.

New Christian Conservative Organization Being Formed to Motivate Leaders to Call Our Nation Back to God and its Basic Values

The Announcement of a New Christian Conservative Organization to Motivate Religious, Governmental and Community Leaders to Call Our Nation Back to God and its Basic Values

WASHINGTON, Mar. 5 /Christian Newswire / -- Why is the USA in the midst of a great economic crisis? Why is there so much corruption in government?

Why are American marriages breaking up at the rate of nearly 50%? Could it be that there is a root cause that many are overlooking? Could it be that the America we love is facing the judgment of God due to rejecting His laws regarding abortion, same-sex marriages, the public display of God in public spaces, trying to borrow our way into wealth, and the funding of godless programs? It appears that we too often attempt to fix the symptom of the problem, as the root of the problem continues to eat at the very core of the nation.

Today, Faith and Action in the Nation's Capitol, HOPE Ministries of Hickory, NC, and The Way of Truth Ministries of Altoona, PA are announcing the formation of THE FAITH AND FREEDOM INSTITUTE for the purpose of motivating religious, governmental, and community leaders to call our nation back to its basic values defined in historical documents. The vision of TFFI will be to perpetuate true patriotism and generate a genuine desire for biblical values in churches, schools and governmental entities within the USA.

Dr. Gary G. Dull, President of The Way of Truth Ministries, executive board member of Faith and Action, and Co-founder of TFFI recently said, "America was founded by men who respected God and His Word. In recent generations, that respect has been lost by many Americans which may be a reason why we are facing so many economic and social problems in the nation. If America continues down the current path, God may judge the nation in greater ways than we can now imagine. If our nation repents, God may bless and restore the USA back to the integrity it once had in the world."

Excerpt from  Pastor tells how to prep for imminent catastrophe

"One of the many Christian leaders with a similar message is Dr. Gary Dull, pastor and founding member of The Faith and Freedom Institute."

"America was founded with a spiritual basis, but there are those who want to make it a purely secular nation," said Dull to an NBC reporter. "Because of the rejection of God and His values, we can expect nothing but His judgment. All one needs to do is to read in history and find out how that when a nation forgot God, God forgot the nation."
